

"Marneuli Open 2025" chess tournament launched at Tea House

On April 26, 2025, the "Marneuli Open 2025" chess tournament was launched at the Tea House, organized by the "Development and Education Center" and supported by "SOCAR". 61 chess players, including children and teenagers, participated in the tournament. Giorgi Giorgadze, Vice President of the "Georgian Chess Federation" and Murad Muradov, Director of the "Integration Center of Azerbaijanis in Georgia", who attended the event, spoke and wished success to the young chess players. In the competition held under the Swiss system, Timur Kalayev won 1st place with 6 points (Marneuli Tea House), Ayhan Askerov won 2nd place with 6 points (Marneuli Tea House) and Murat Nabiyev won 3rd place with 6 points (Marneuli GAIM).
In the 16-year-old category, Tahir Mammadov won 1st place (Garachop) with 7 points, Ali Aliyev won 2nd place (Marneuli Tea House) with 6.5 points, and Bahlul Guliyev won 3rd place (Garachop) with 6 points.
The winners were presented with cups and medals.
At the end of the event, the winners of the Kvemo Kartli Chess Championship held in Rustavi on April 24-25 by the Kvemo Kartli Chess Federation with the support of the Rustavi City Hall were presented with medals, cups and certificates by the Vice President of the Georgian Chess Federation Giorgio Giorgadze.
The tournament was held under the auspices of Tea House young chess players Jahandar Bayramov, Tacir Allahverdiyev, Turaj Hasanov, Emil Allahverdiyev and Gasim Aliyev.
